résumé and curriculum vitæ

Some consider the terms "résumé" and "curriculum vitæ" (aka "CV") synonyms describing the same document; a self promotional tool generally used to seek new employment. For my purposes they are distinct. My résumeé is written for the technical reader when applying to a technical position. It is creative, different, expressive in unanticipated ways and hopefully eye catching. It contains only the information most commonly digested by technically inclined hiring managers. It is intended to entice the hiring manager enough to follow up with me in person. My curriculum vitæ will be (its not finished yet) a more traditional looking professional review of my skills, experiences, successes, interests, and other such information. A venture capitalist should read the CV, a technical manager should review the résumé.

hosted personal information

I maintain a personal blog called '/dev/toe'.

I archive sites of merit to my del.icio.us pages and tag liberally.

I have a random assortment of snapshots in a variety of albums in no particular order.

I buy and sell things on eBay often. My auction id is 'gregsburd'.

Friends and their faces.

Pictures of a variety of things.

Pictures of a variety of yet more things including an Apple TV album.

Wikipedia will evolve into an enduring and invaluable reference, the realization of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." I contribute where I can.

An RSS feed listing books I've found useful, interesting, or otherwise worth the time and recommend for your enjoyment or edification.

Still the best place for nerd news.

Collaborative, quick, quirky yet ultimately quite useful information.

I consider myself an amateur trader, but I have no time and less money to invest these days.

When I exercise fiscal discipline I'll put things I'd like to buy into my shopping list. When I don't, I buy them and take them off the list. I should do more of the former and less of the latter.

Keeping track of colleagues and work history is complex, I manage mine here. This also serves as an informal resume and list of references.

Amateur radio is educational and fun and now you don't even have to learn morse code to get your license.

Here are some essentials of my daily life.
